I took my car to Autoclass Panel Beaters in August to have all four rims refurbished/repainted, along with a polish on the vehicle, and overall I had a very good experience. The main reason I went there was the rims, and on that front I honestly cannot complain. The workmanship was excellent and the rims came out looking really, really good. Even now I’m still impressed with the finish. I dealt mainly with Gabriel, who was helpful, patient and communicated well throughout the process. The value was also extremely good. I paid roughly R2,500 for all four rims together with the polish, which was considerably less than some of the other quotations I had received. Despite the lower price, I was very happy with the actual rim refinishing work. There was a slight misunderstanding regarding a small bend/dent on one of the rims. I initially understood that this would also be corrected, but it ultimately wasn’t. That said, it doesn’t take away from how happy I am with the painting and refinishing itself. Regarding the buff and polish, I would describe it more as a normal polish than a full paint-correction or buffing service. The car came out shiny, but the existing swirl marks were still visible. To be fair to them, they did explain beforehand that the polish was mainly to improve the shine and wasn’t intended to remove all of the swirls, so I knew what to expect. Their setup is fairly simple, but I wouldn’t judge the quality of their work by that. From my experience they were trustworthy, friendly and took care of the car while it was with them. When I went, payment was cash only, so that’s just something worth knowing beforehand. I can only speak for the work I personally had done and can’t comment on their panel-beating services, but for rim painting/refinishing I would absolutely recommend them and would use them again.
